Hey wouldn't it be cool to have a TSG Open event? Say something held in the Vegas area, USGA handicaps, 4 rounds, 36 one day, 18 next day, 18 final. Or maybe something team related (determined at random)? It would be a great chance to meet others, see and test equipment, get fitted, etc. April or May would be a good month. Any interest?

I went as far as selecting the dates and contacting numerous golf courses in Vegas last year but did not generate enough interests/players to proceed further.

I would love to its just I don't have the time. Also don't carry a USGA handicap. But it does sound like a lot of fun.

Sounds like a great idea. I'd play in a heartbeat. Of course living in the Vegas area makes it real easy for me.
I can see how it would be hard to coordinate and get everyone together. Perhaps if it was planned far enough
ahead???

The closest thing we have got to was acrazygolfers attempt at it a while ago. Other than that about 4-6 of us play in Japan every year around the time of the golf show.

Hey Blader-X do you play in the States??

I have an Australian Golf Union handicap and I'm sure that would qualify.

Yes, I play in the States, its just that I don't play competatively any more and don't really care to establish a handicap. I guess I'm more of a "soul" golfer now. I'm competative with myself only and just play to play. I would love to compete again, I just don't have the time to really commit to doing that. My kids schedules are too demanding. However, I still yearn to compete and keep thinking "one of these days", I'll get back out there. I still stay as sharp as I can. Funny thing is, as you get older, you also get wiser and I find I'm a smarter golfer now which makes up for a lack of practice time. Funny how that works out that way.

Scary question. Any idea what your swing speed would have been when you were "younger".

I'm sure it was very high, but I was also very erratic. Too much inconsistentcy. Easily another 10-20 mph faster but it did't translate into better shots because at that speed its extremely hard to find the club face center. A lot of work with my swing coach and a lot of effort into my swing on my part has made it a much better move. As you know Jack, hitting that sweetspot is much more important for distance than the speed of the swing. Back in the day I know I could bust a good drive but now days, with technology and a much better swing my drives are still close to the distance I used to get. In fact I would like to believe I'm even better. Not longer necessarily just better (more consistent).

Brand of Choice: Gauge Design/G-Field

What's in the Bag?:
G-Field 8.5* GFT driver
G-Field 15* three wood
Tourstage 17*, 20* prototype rescues with proto NV shafts

G-Field NC-1 forged irons, 3-pw, with Prolite graphite shafts
Gauge Design 4th Anniversary MoCr CNC-F 52/56 wedges
G-Field Athletic Zone-Leap orange putter
Awesome black and white G-Field staff bag

Now that sounds like a great time. Playing in Japan and then going to the golf show. How does one get into that foursome?

A round before or after the Tokyo show would be cool... literally and proverbially though! Chris, do you play around Tokyo then or head down south?
