I just ordered a new logo 460 on a PT6. This time the comparison to my beloved XD435 will be fair as the setups are identical. I also ordered a AF-201 on PT7, which I have always wanted to try in a FW as I love the 6 in the driver so much. Last year I tried an Epon on the stock Drev shaft, and while I was intrigued by the feel of the face, the shaft was nothing like the PT6.
I thought about trying an Axiv or possibly Roddio, but this morning I went to the range and was just bombing w/ the XD and trusty backup R7TP / I65. Graphite Design Tour ADs just work for me. It was very refreshing after last week, when I played and hooked almosty every tee shot. My left hand had slowly crept out of whack and created too strong of a grip; put it back to a reasonable position and despite feeling awkward I was ripping the ball. Can't wait to get this new pair :) |

You know I just might do that... the low kick of the Quattro may do me more good than the mid of the PT7. But either way I love the profile of that 3 wood. So you're finally pulling the trigger! Awesome. Like I said, if the PT-6 works for you, stick with it. The QT recommendation is a good one, seems like many like it's stability and ability to get the ball up off the deck with it's lower kick. |

I appreciated your input on the shaft selections. I PM'd Chris and am changing the FW to the Quattro... that lower kick will help off the mat no doubt. Love GD shafts, that's for sure! |

I probably sound like a broken record when I say the EPON FW's with the QT shaft are simply the best.

I'm thinking to put a Blue Board S63 into a Epon 3 wood as I have excellent result with the Blue Board in my Geotech 5 wood.

I probably sound like a broken record when I say the EPON FW's with the QT shaft are simply the best. I am happy to hear that as I did confirm w/ Chris and changed to the Quattro. I am not sure how I missed it. I am very comfortable w/ driver off the tee box and seldom hit 3. For me it will be more of a fairway club and that low kick is perfect. I am a low ball hitter, and whenever I try the 3 it frequently results in low lasers. Good yardage, but not what I'm looking for. I am now very eager to get the QT. And big thanks to Ajaykkr for the sugguestion!! |
