I've been wanting to try some new irons -- should I wait for the MP 57s or take the plunge with the JPX 500s?

BD, you are one sick puppy to have these! Although I'm not really surprised at your review, I am curious to find out how much all of this cost!

Sorry for the momentary thread jack.

Back to the topic at hand...

The JPX's look to be larger than the 57's, and I'm sure the top line is thicker also.

Tour-md, what seems to be the priority for you between the two?

What's in the Bag?:
Lots of stuff

You're also going to have to maybe consider two different feeling clubs as the MP-57's are back to Mizuno's Grain Flow forged are they not? While JPX E500 are advanced one piece forgings by Endo. I'd guess that the E500's would be more forgiving and easier to hit. Until I actually see the MP-57's side by side with another iron, it will be hard to get a perspective on dimensions...

I think the JPX E500 would be more forgiving.

Just bored so I thought I'd try different irons. I've been a huge forged blade fan -- I've hit and nearly owned all of them (haven't had the pleasure of hitting the Gold's Factory irons yet, however). I'm currently playing a set of MP33s. I tried a set of Callaway X-Tours (old model) and achieved unbelievable distances so I thought I'd try something else for fun.

Thanks Kawika for the inquiry. Feel would be first -- maybe : ). I'm a local boy myself but now live in California. I see that Roots and Relics has changed quite a bit.

Now that the MP-57's have been sighted....any comparisons?

Chris has hit them both already. So we'll wait for him to chime in with some comparisons.

The JPX Forged is more forgiving and especially in the longer irons but keep in mind that comes with more offset and an overall larger presence to them. The heel to toe size is longer and I personally really like the face shape of the JPX, that said for me it would come down to what fits my eye best and they are both on the large side to me but the 57 has a better setup imo.

Thanks Chris for the MP-57s. They are really great irons. I love the square toe appearance and thin topline. I should have a review in the near future.
