What's in the Bag?:
Callaway GBBII 9* NV65
Callaway Steelhead Plus 4 Steel Stiff
PRGR TR 900MD 4-PW 1* flat; M-43 Shafts
Mizuno MP-14 3-PW DGS300 60* 6i Lofts Standard
Wedges: Cleveland 900, 53* 588 56*, 12*b
Callaway X-Tour 58* PM Grind, 11*b
Scotty Cameron SS Newport II 34"

I've just come back from the range with the new PRGR TR 900MD irons, M43 shafts, standard LLL.

First of all they were here on Thursday, after being ordered the Sunday of Memorial day weekend-- from Cali to NY basically in two days (Tue-Thu). That is impressive-- Thanks TSG Staff!

First impressions: The clubs are as gorgeous as they look in the pix. They are mid sized for me, coming from the MP-14's.

The 43 shafts are much less stiff than the DGS300's. Though I did not see a significant difference in flight, I did feel a difference. I think a are a bit too light for me and I might go for a shaft with more swing weight.

Notice in the pix there is an interesting leading edge "grind," if you will; fat shots still fly.

Thins are better as well, and don't sting.

Trajectory is remarkably similar to my MP's-- sky scraping, though boring. I like this trajectory-- it gives me confidence that the ball will stop and looks impressive up there in the clouds =).

I need to get them fitted, at least 2* flatter.

I haven't played with them on the course, yet, so do not know how the spin is in stopping power.

Bending the ball left and right is no problem-- I did have to adjust to deloft for punch shots.

Overall, I am very satisfied and pleased. These clubs are so much nicer, as well as more unique, than any other clubs around, it's cool to have them in my bag. I think after some adjustments they will be more forgiving than the MP's, nearly as workable, and nearly as solid feeling. That butter feeling is present, it's just a tad lighter, in the hands.

Hope the pix load ok-- enjoy!

Which One??

I have been looking at those clubs for a long time. I have always wanted to try a set. One of the best looking irons IMO.

Good Luck (IMG:http://www.tourspecgolf.com/forum/style_emoticons/TSG_Smileys/tsg_smilie_smile2.gif)

Will be checking in for further updates.

Do you have a Club fitter that can bend/fit the clubs for you??

I have a choice of fitters, but am always a bit worried about workmanship. I'm going to be very assertive and specific this time. I want the specs checked and written down before hand. I need to be fitted for the lower, then the mid, and finally the high irons-- all regarding lie angle.

There is a new Golf Galaxy nearby that has a nice workshop. You can actually sit at a bar-like bench and watch them work on your clubs.

I'll post further comments after the lie angle adjustments.

Great review D! Make sure you get back to us after you have them tuned up and hit the course with them.

How did the irons feel on impact compared to your mizuno's when hit flush? Soft?

Great initial review and thanks for the pics. Really nice of you to include comparative pics as I think this helps others in choosing clubs.

Hope they work out well once you've adjusted them.

Thanks,

They are super soft! Regarding comparison to the Mizzys, it's hard to explain, but I think there seems to be less mass at impact.
