what is the brand of choice for what I have described?

Epon, Fourteen, Tourstage??? I can't hit anything with a really narrow face very well, I currently play a 14 degree Sonartec 03 model, but the trajectory isn't high enough for my liking, I want one with a little deeper face and low center of gravity? Do any of you Japanese club experts have a suggestion?

thanks for your help

What's in the Bag?:
Bag #1
Epon AF101 with Machline 7061 Proto
Miura 5W with Machline 7061
Honma Duel Attack 19*
Lepon 23* w/Machline 65
Matsumoto 4-pw with AXIV Graphite
Epon 50* AW
Yururi 57* SW
Hiro Matsumoto MG 8 / Whitlam Devon SPI-3

I have 2 sonartec 03 with Tour Platform, a 14 and a 16 and both play slightly higher than my new Fourteen 15 degree 3 wood which has a slightly deeper face. It is my understanding that a deeper face would promote a lower flight rather than higher. At the same time, the flight, besides a function of CG, would largely be a function of the profile of the shaft used. Then again, I am not expert in club design or function but most JDM fairway woods would not have deep face as a way to promote higher launch.

The G-Field GFT with a Graphite Design AD Tour shaft should be perfect for you, I had a 4 wood with a AD Tour I 65 stiff shaft in it, unfortunately it was stolen last week along with a set of Tourstage X Bade CB's and various other stuff. I really would like my GFT back, it was a superb fairway wood!

Lots of stuff

G-field Fairway Woods are some of the easiest to hit. It's the FW that's in my bag now. I've never had as much success with any other FW. Gets the ball up well too. Another easy FW to hit is the PRGR M3 Hit.

@ranghips7: Whattt!!! I can't believe your clubs were stolen?? How did that happen? On a course or at the range? Are JDM clubs common in your area? Maybe they can get tracked down? That's just totally horrible... sorry to hear that.

The clubs were securely locked in the boot of a car at my girlfriends golf club, an exclusive, members only club! The thieves targeted 3 cars, smashing window glass to gain entry, then stole a car to get away in, smashing through the car park security barrier. JDM clubs are very rare in my area, Sheffield, England, all the clubs apart from the GFT had been made for us by adt69 (Allan Taylor), Driver was a Snake Eyes Titanium Composite 420cc with Mamiya Axiv V 6066, GFT 4 wood with AD Tour I 65, 5 to PW Tourstage X-Blade CB's with Nippon NS Pro 950 GH Weight Flows, Tourstage X Blade 58* wedge with NS Pro 950 GH WF, Cobra Utility 22*, SeeMore Black Blade putter, Ping discovery stand bag, plus a couple of spare drivers which were also in the boot of the car. Most of these clubs are pretty unique as they were custom made, if anyone in the UK is offered them please PM me with details, I just want them back!!!!!!!

The G-Field is a fine club however, I think it might be a little on the low side as far as face heighth. The new '07 Epon has a nice mid-high face which I like but I wouldn't say it hits it high. More on the low side.

I'm thinking two which have been mentioned the PRGR M3 and TourStage X-ST. The PRGR has a high face but with tungsten weights to promote a lower center of gravity giving a higher flight. Your current Sonartec SS03 was originally designed for low, boring trajectory. I used to have a few of those myself. Most of the deep faced fairways are that way so try to look for the ones with weighting promoting that lower center of gravity for higher shots. PM Chris for his thoughts.

Good luck to you.

The RC BBD Type H2 meets your requirements and then some. An absolute blast to hit from the tee or turf and gets up in a hurry. Pricey but worth every penny.

I just had my Fourteen 3 wood reshafted with a old Fuji SIX driver shaft in S. Due to lightness of the Six, I had to leave the length at half inch longer than standard now at 43.5 inch playing at 255 cpm. Wow this thing just rocks now with a mid launch and long. The stock Fourteen R was not bad but just too soft for me and now this combo just go straight and long.

I have forgotten how good the Fuji SIX was and I am glad I renew the acquaintance.

Hey Rangship, I'm sorry for your loss of JDM gear (IMG:http://www.tourspecgolf.com/forum/style_emoticons/TSG_Smileys/tsg_smilie_blackeye.gif)

Did your car also got stolen - I guess it must have been an expensive one, since the thieves sought out the 3 most expensive looking cars in the car park...ouchhhh.....I hate it when this happens to someone (IMG:http://www.tourspecgolf.com/forum/style_emoticons/TSG_Smileys/tsg_smilie_mad.gif)
