I know we all love pics... and it's always fun to take them so here we've got two battles brewing...

Epon Technity 460ZR vs Epon Technica 420. Two Forged Titans ready to battle it out. The Technity 460 is definitely deeper faced but the 420 has a really nice head shape. The Technica 420 is 10* in loft but for some strange reason... looks less. Fans of smaller heads would definitely be a fan of this one. The crown is also a pearl like blue finish. The Technica 420 comes with Epon Technica stock graphite and came stickered with Length, Swingweight, Total Clubweight and finished CPM. Hopefully I can get out to the range tonight to hit them side by side.

Second we have the awesome G-Field Leap-M vs Zomo's Z:Zero. Two neo-mallets that both weigh in at exactly 535g! I just had to see for myself how "bad" the Zomo is based on some negative comments I've read before... I will not writeup how it performs until after the Putter shootout this Saturday. The Leap has a SUS304 insert while the Zero is a bit crisper with a SUS303 insert. Zero is a bit more upright and comes with a Zomo Winn Grip and a very soft head cover. The Leap comes with an Iomic style grip and Nippon putter shaft, my Leap came with a Como!Come! Cherry Blossom cover.

Pictures for visual comparisons (Technica has a normal black ferrule while the Technity 460 has the fancy one) :

Yes we all love pics.

Is that Technica 420 have a closed face or is it just the pic making it look that way?

Great pics...

I have a question though.
I was looking at epon website and came accross this Epon Technity 460 pic that didn't have the carbon piece (marked in the red circle).
Why is this?

Also, can you post a pic of the grips? Thanks.

Hi Z3RO,

The carbon ferrules are very popular and not always in stock. Sometimes you get them, sometimes you don't. This Epon is the first one I've had with the carbon weave ferrule. I've had Epon irons, woods, wedges, and they all had normal ferrules, but you'll see others on the site here that have the nice ferrules on all their clubs, depends if Chris has them in stock.

The grips are both not stock, one is a Winn DSI grip and the other a Golf Pride dual durometer... ^^

I forgot to mention I hit the 420cc 10* Technica today...

It was a different feel from the Technity 460 but still very nice. It might actually be a little more forgiving even though it has a smaller head since the face is shallower by about 10mm and quite a bit wider heel to toe. I liked the feel and the shape of the head at address is also very nice with no markings or alignment aids...

G,

Other the "CC" what are the differences between technity and technica? Is the technica an older driver? The carbon weave ferrule is awesome.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure, and Chris can correct me if I'm wrong, that the Technica Forged Titan is the model before the Technity Forged Titan. Very solid feel and totally Epon quality, I think yourpressed and Chris have/had the 380 version of the Technica.

Will Epon release a succesor to the 460 Technity soon - maybe with a design that looks more like their new 2007 fariway wood ?

Does all the Epon driver heads and fairway wood heads sits square or closed at address ?

Epon always has stuff in the works... (^_-)

Epon drivers are typically square though can be ordered closed or open.
