Yes, what a great time of the year. As usual for me, its Tiger. Being a SoCal native and loving the way he "brings it" to the game, Tiger does it for me. He's got four at this point and you know how much he wants to break Jack's record. Becoming a father very soon and wanting to make up for giving it away last year while trying too hard to win one for his pops; you know he'll be very ready and extremely focused for this one.

The Master's is a special time for me as my son was born back in '99 early on Master's Sunday. In fact I watched the whole tourney that day at the hospital holding him in my arms. Now, these days, we get to play golf together. He's got a good swing from the left side. Born on Master's Sunday, playing golf at an early age, a sign of things to come??

Stupid parents!! (IMG:http://www.tourspecgolf.com/forum/style_emoticons/TSG_Smileys/atsg_smilie_roll.gif) Well a father can dream can't he?

Ah yes, The Masters. I've watched this tournament since the early 60's and have to say that my fondest memories of Tournament Golf surround the Masters. I love it all. Palmer, Nicklaus, Player, Hogan shooting 30 on the back nine in 1967, Seve and Jose Maria, Faldo, Crenshaw, Woods, and even Mickelson.

As for this year, how can I possibly pick anyone but Mr. Woods. Simple, I can't. But to go out on a limb and pick someone not of the usual suspects, give a watch to Steve Stricker, who has the putting skills to win anywhere but especially on these greens. Aaron Baddeley is one of the 20 something guys I like, also because he can putt like anything. In addition he appears to have learned to hit fairways much more consistant manner so he could be in the hunt too.

Looks like Adam Scott is playing pretty well...

I don't think the new guys on the block will fare well at the Masters. This is where the Vets surface to the top. I think this years list will be a who's who of the best Golfers. The young bucks fold walking up the fairway with Tiger on Sunday.

so...

Phil
Tiger

Rateif
maybe Ernie...

is Montgomery in the field???

Tiger to claim it again! He's on form and providing he doesn't try to get too much distance from his driver he will take some beating. Apparently Phil Mickelson will be carrying two drivers again, one of which will be the square FT-i, he claims it gives him 20 yards more distance than his regular driver!
From a British perspective, I am expecting Justin Rose to put up a good performance, his games right there at the moment, he's driving the ball well, and putting well, and providing his back holds up I think he could be in contention.
Whoever wins it will be the usual superb spectacle, probably Augusta National will win because those greens are terrifying!

Well, I'm just waiting around the fourth round to air, but when did the USGA take over at Augusta National??

It was unbelievable watching all those players back up at the end like that. I was yelling at the TV saying come on Tiger after he bogeyed 17 and 18, again. Thought he needed to make at least par on one of those holes since he had battled all day. I didn't think all of the players ahead of him would just start folding like lawnchairs there at the end.

Should be very interesting today. I can't wait but I just hope it doesn't come down to a players making a bunch of bogies and going backwards. Looking foward to watching it all unfold today.

Congrats to Zach Johnson and what a round he played. Never have thought him to be that caliber of player, but I suppose that should probably change now.

The final round had great drama with tough conditions but birdies and eagles to be had for those who were brave and on their game. I loved it!! Having Tiger win would have made me even more happier but it was great theatre down the stretch with so many players in it up until the final few holes.

Not sure if this is one and done in terms of majors for Z.J., but he was rock solid and this can only bolster US hopes in the President's and Ryder's Cup.
