Is someone able to tell me the difference between the two??
ie playing chracteristics etc The tp-6 and tp-7 are significatly more expensive than the x-con. Can some explain the difference in performance between the tps and the x-cons. This post has been edited by Jack lives here: Mar 19 2007, 12:11 AM |

As I understand it, the Matrix has boron threads running down along the shaft (when you cut one you can see some kind of metal thread - whether it's boron, titanium or something else I don't know - it's noticeably hard to cut). TP series has a full boron wrap and a full Zylon wrap. Code, including XCon Code series has Zylon wrap but not a boron wrap, or at least not a full wrap.
Performance difference? Tough. the Oziks are markedly smoother than the Matrix, and tighter dispersion also. I don't think they're any longer, but then I think the Matrix is about the longest shaft ever made, given proper fitting. The Oziks are easier to fit - wider range for each shaft. |

Matrix is the name of the shaft company, like a Fujikura or UST. Ozik is one of the lines of shafts, like a Vista Tour or V2 series. There are multiiple shafts to choose from Matrix depending on your swing.
Altus, XCON, TP-7, TP-7X, TP-6 are just some of the models, many more to be found @ www.matrixshafts.com Bart |

How do you like it compared to other shafts you have had? I currently have a Cleveland hi bore xl with a code 6 stiff and really like it. I was wondering if the xcon could possibly be any better? Thanks Mike |
