Since 1934 Daiwa Seiko has been a huge manufacture of many types of industries goods, they utilize a variety of materials in all of their applications and have many concepts unseen or thought of to the golfing world. They are most famous for their domination in the Fishing Rod Technology arena and have been doing intensive research for many years to build a golf shaft that actually provides a noticeable difference in distance when fit with the proper swing. ONOFF is their golf equipment brand that has been around for over a decade producing high quality golf equipment. Recently they have caught our eye with their new Forged Cavity Backs and Control Irons, Their use of tungsten in the long irons varies through out each club which allows them to create the optimal MOI and consistant CG location throughout the set. From sexy new forged wedges to woods that are HOT of the face Daiwa also brings the ultimate in materials and manufacturing techology to a new shaft line called RODDIO. Roddio is hand made in Higashikurume, Japan and is the most advanced golf shaft made today. only a few companies have 4 ply weave shafts but Roddio has taken it one step further with the worlds first 5 ply. By making a -45*, +45*, 90*, and 0* weaves then taking the final and fifth layer that weaves in and out of the 4 making the most high quality and best performing shaft to this date in the golf industry. There are two models the WA and the BA, the WA is for the golfer who produces lots of wrist lag while the BA is for someone with less. Within each series there are W6, W7, and W8 series weight options. This shaft will be coming to america perhaps in 2008. This is next gen technology seen today only at (IMG:http://www.tourspecgolf.com/forum/style_emoticons/TSG_Smileys/atsg_logo_anim.gif)

We were just notified that this shaft is not to be sold alone and it must be installed by a certified RODDIO account because the Daiwa Seiko CPM meters are not traditional by our standards by any means in the USA. There is no 5" or 7" clamp and their accounts are required to use the Studio Mannual for reference in regards to tipping. This shaft is not to be spined or flo'd as that will cause a negative effect toward performance. Good news is in a couple of days TourSpecGolf will be studio trained to offer these shafts installed for serious golfers.

I really like the first two iron sets shown...quite attractive. I remember the old Team Diawa stuff from the mid 90's.

Let me tell ya guys they make top notch gear, they have daiwa only steel shafts in the 120 gram range that are constant weight and we are now able to get face angle adjustments and custom color LABO stock shafts for select members.

I have always liked their fishing reels. The golf stuff is real eye-catching I look forward to hearing from people who have tried their gear. (IMG:http://www.tourspecgolf.com/forum/style_emoticons/TSG_Smileys/atsg_smilie_onoff.gif)

If I lived in Japan this company would be one of my favorites. I can tell that they are good quality clubs and they also look great. I really like the fairway wood. The only thing I don't like is the thick toplines.

does anyone know how forgiving their black series irons are? they look pretty sweet but the retail value would suffer in the states.

When you say thick do you mean 5mm? It also depends on the way they grind the edges of the topline. So in pure measurement it could be the same as many other irons you enjoy. Im talking the ONOFF forged that is.

Do you have a pick of the forged clubs from the set-up position? I'm gonna sell my MP-30's after getting the MP-33's. I like the smaller heads and thin toplines! Are the toplines of the ONOFF forged comparable to the 33's?

Not even close, you better keep looking for a blade if you want a true blade profile.

You are trying to get a top line and profile of a blade but your looking at a mid size players cavity back.

I suggest looking at other options if it MUST have the particular setup you are wanting.
