New to the bag, an Epon Technity 2007 3-Wood w/ Graphite Design TourAD Quattro Tech 85s shaft. I will includes pics of it as well as comparative pics alongside a G-Field GFT 16° 4-wood and a TourEdge Exotics 15° 3-wood. After some good rounds I will also post a performance review. It would not be a fair review to compare the Epon versus the other clubs since specs and shafts are all different, but pics of other clubs included just to compare styles and looks of each. I hope you enjoy the pics. Review to soon follow as I have a few rounds scheduled in the next few days. A 13.5° is a club I've been wanting to put back in the bag for some time now. I'm planning on this club to fill the role both off the tee and in the fairway.

Quality and craftsmanship just ooze from this club. I really like the way it frames the ball and it gives me a lot confidence right from the start. I went with a 1 degree open club face due to my penchant to go left more than I would like. The 1 degree open has been working well with the driver, so I thought we would build the 3-wood the same. Weight of the club is what I prefer. On the heavier side at a D-6 swingweight but it matches with all my other clubs. The green of the shaft does not distract from the look of the club at all. Very pleasing to my eye which is all that counts. In fact the color is very serene and calming in a way. I'll let you all decide about the headcover as I'm not quite sure how I feel about it either way. But then, I still have Ultraman on the bag currently doing duty on a G-Field utility. He may find his way to the 3-wood. Again I hope you've enjoyed the pics and I hope this can help fellow TSG'ers put a bit more perspective on these fine clubs. |

What a beauty!!! I personally really like the green of the quattro shaft.
Have been debating that same club, I was thinking the 75 shaft for me... impatiently waiting for the review. (IMG:http://www.tourspecgolf.com/forum/style_emoticons/TSG_Smileys/tsg_smilie_smile2.gif) I figure if it takes the g-field out of the bag then we have a winner. |

First initial thoughts in real playing conditions.
Played 34 holes yesterday with a very large bucket of balls in between. Needless to say I was playing golf the entire time the sun was up a little once it went over the hills. Hit the 3 wood exstensively in the range session. This is one fine club. Trajectory is a low bullet. It gently rises, then levels off and travels pretty much on a straight line. Off the tee its basically a mini driver keeping the ball low. The QT shaft is very impressive. As in another post, its feel is definitely "stiffer" than you might expect. I do like the look of it very much. Wish all my shafts were this green color. Perfect for my eye. Feel wise, is very similar to the AxivV. The shaft "stays" with you through the entire swing. The club shaft combo is very accurate. Overall I'm very impressed with this club and it will stay in the bag for sometime. I want to give it some more rounds and get familiar with it before I can fully describe it. I will also compare it to the G-Field GFT w/ PT-8 in terms of flight and feel, in another post down the line. Thanks for reading. |

Have had this club head and shaft combo now for about 7-8 rounds and about 20 range balls. Mine is a 15* with the 75 quattrotech S. Felt like I needed to say that the review of Blader-x is pretty dang accurate.
I used the club a little more today partly as a test. It didn't seem like I had really put the club to work yet. We did today. The length off the tee was amazing. The feel comes right thru instantly putting a big smile on your face as you linger in the thought of the amazing feel of the shot you just hit. Epon custom bent the Club 3* flat at the Factory so getting the ball off the deck has never been better. No heel dig. This is an amazing club. Hate to say it but it easily took the G-Field out of the bag. Granted the 3* flat bend makes it easier to hit it off the deck. Off the tee the Epon is easily 25 yards longer than the G-field. Feel to me, is as big a part of the shot, as the accuracy of the shot is. If that makes any sense to you, you will go out and buy this club w/the quattrotech shaft. Its my opinion you cannot find nor hit a better fairway wood than the 2007 Technity. Its feel is unsurpassed. I carry the 13.5° and now the 20° 7-wood. Still have the G-Field 4 wood in the bag and although its a very useful club, its feel is nowhere near that of the Epon. We're talking a forged wood with the ability of custom specs. For me, the story begins and ends with Epon.

I am now carrying the Epon 15, 18 & 22* FW's
And you can have them all... over my dead body!!!!! The feel, workability, control, consistancy... unmatched. I have hit just about everything out there and then some. Nothing compares. For the first time in my life I don't even care to try anything else. It couldn't work or feel better. |

COULDN'T AGREE MORE!!!!! I have the 13.5 and 20. Its just pure majic. Oh yea, the Quattro Tech shafts in both by Graphite Design aren't too bad either. In fact they're majical as well!! wonering if you had time to do the comparison? i have the g field 14* 3 wood and I am killing it (got it this season), but curious to see if the Epon could better it. You know, both are awesome clubs and its like having to choose between two beautiful looking women. Both are attractive and just drop-dead gorgeous but they're different and beautiful in their own way. You'd be happy with either but its so hard to choose but you if you had to, go with the one that just has that slight edge to you whatever that may be. For me, its the Epons. Feel-wise just a little better than the G-Field. However, if you notice my bag, the G-Field is still there alongside the two Epons. So far its working out great and I don't really have any intention of changing it up. At least not for the next few months. I will say that I don't use the 13.5° Epon from the rough all that much. Light rough yes, but anything more, just doesn't call for that. 13.5° has a little to do with that as well. For those shots, the 16° G-Field does get the nod because of its rails and slighly lower profile. I will use the 20° Epon out of the rough though if I feel the need. No problem with that club due to the loft. Does well from the rough as well. Off the tee, its always the Epons. I don't like the G-Field off the tee. Just doesn't look right to me. Its strictly from off the turf/in the rough. All three are very, very useful and I can do just about whatever I want with them. I do find the Epons are more sensitive and when I hit those clubs, I know exactly what the shot is doing from the moment of impact. The Epons have the Quattro Tech shafts which are just like butta!! The PT-8 in the G-Field is no slouch and works very, very well with that head. The trajectory is middle-range bullet. All three have hit some memorable shots already that stand out in my memory banks. Clubs that do that for me tend to stay in the bag for some time. So right now, as you can probably surmise, I'm very happy with both and both serve some different functions that work well in my game. I will say that I'm enjoying the 7 wood and am not really missing the hybrids right now. Where I was once carrying three, I now have none and so far its working. Still kind of in the experimental stage with that but you all know I'll keep you posted as I just love writing on this site. If you're loving the G-Field, no need to change. But then again, if the "ho" instincts start to tingle, you could always give the Epons a go. Still can't believe that (G-Field) with such great clubs, could screw it up so bad as to go out of business. But then, when they came to the states they opened up an office in Newport Beach, CA. A little on the expensive side if you're just starting out in a new territory if you ask me. Anyways in regards to this post, Epons edge out G-Fields by a hair due to feel. I do have on thought of maybe eventually getting a 5 wood in the Epon. If I did do that, the G-Field would be out of the bag, definitely. |

Blader X, thanks for the comparison. Its been very helpful. I am hitting the G field (14* with the PT-7) so well that I now have a club that I know I can land 230-240 yards down the line in the fairway that my scrores are dropping. Plus, I use it for my second shot on par5s. For now, I will wait before experimenting.
