What's in the Bag?:
Lots of stuff

I've read a few brief comments on the ViQ Forged here but no real feedback on the New ViQ.

I'm looking at both sets and trying to compare offset, forgiveness, construction and playability.

I cannot find the definitive answer on whether the New ViQ is forged or not? I'm guessing it's the more forgiving set? Anyone here ever own a set or play a set?

Thanks! :tsg_smilie_cool:

Sorry I did not try the new ViQ but I do know the old ViQ are worth a look. I recently switched irons from the TS - 202 to the ViQ forged irons with 1050 ns shafts. The ViQ are about 10 yards longer. I thought I would never change to anything else but the ViQ made it easy. The length that was gained was not the deciding factor, it was the confidence factor. The size of the head and the forgiveness was the difference.

Thanks for the feedback. :tsg_smilie_cool:

So you found the viq forged rather forgiving, as forgving as the TS-202's? I've heard a few comments that they are more for players and low handicappers.

I think TS 202 is the older version of X-Blade CB. On the other hand, V-iq forged is the newer version of V300. The Viq forged is easier to hit and longer by 10+ yards on average. I usually hit 150 yards par 3 with 7 iron with viq forged, I used 8 iron. so it means easier to hit especially in longer clubs such as 190 yards with 4 iron EASILY compare to 3 iron in the old set which I can never hit them consistantly. But with these clubs you will find your short irons have some gap missing. That's why I carry 4 wedges and not carrying 3 irons.

The new Viq forged is suppose to be the improve version with about 1 degree stonger loft. Could be good for not so long hitter but better player could find it too strong in loft.

Also new viq forged has a little larger face than the old viq forged. But I'm not sure about the offset, I think it should remain the same.

lets not be confused here guys, the new viq is forged and i doubt anyone has tried it as its being released this week in Japan.

The TS202 isnt the old version of the XCB. they are two different models.

If your having distance gap problems adjusting lofts to suite your needs is the most logical solution.
