G-Field was the Big Hit at the 06 Tokyo Golf Fair, They had Katayama, Izawa, and Shinobu's teacher singing praise to the new Leap-M design during a special press release announcement. Pros stopped by the booth on industry day with anticipation to pick up their new prototype putters. There are already 3 G-Field drivers in play on the JPGA and 1 G-Field Premium zone putter in the U.S LPGA. They also announced they should have 25 sponsored players worldwide by the end of year two.

Expect G-Field to enter the U.S market mid 2006 with a full arsenal of import weapons. There could be product differences between Japans G-Field and the U.S end, They are thinking of removing the weights on the Driver, FW, and Utility to reach the U.S price points, they are also using Aldila shafts instead of graphite design in the states.

Great job GD JPN.
Only one question, why so much paint up the hosel on the FW and such short hosels on the Drivers, doesn't anyone care about us tech guys anymore we are constantly asked to bend them :tsg_smilie_wah:
Just kidding, the G field gear looks great.
Cheers,
Chris

The G-Field product looks great. When do you think we'll get reviews of some of their new offerings? Driver? FW Woods? Perhaps a comparaon between the NC-1's and the CCB - 1"s. The Wedges are beautiful (Is the GFT wedge similar in set-up and design to the GAS -1 forged Gauge Design wedge?) Will Chris be selling these or did I read in an earlier post that they will be coming to American retailers? If so when, who, and how much?

I have a driver and two fairway woods on the way, and will post a review as soon as possible.

Every sigle thing there looks so unbeleivable. It's all so nice looking it's overwhelming. This irons look insane, the putters are a whole bunch of colours, the woods look so clean and simple. I almost want one of those birght lime green bags.
This, in my opinion is the best selection you've put up so far from the Tokyo Golf Fair, really impressive all around.

I'm sure I am hopelessly out of touch, but when did Gauge Design start with this "G-Field" line? Does it have to do with the dispute with David Whitlam, or are they simply expanding their product line and coming up with new marketing terms?

Also saw in Golfweek that Whitlam is hooking up with Honma to distribute putters in Japan.

BTW, I think the "G-Field" stuff looks UNBELIEVABLE! Although, I think I still prefer the simple Gauge Design caliper look over the new "g" logo.

Thanks for setting me straight on all this!

G-Field is a new branch of GD Japan they are a total club brand featuring a stacked product line up including 2 Drivers, FW, UT, Driving Iron, 3 types of Irons, 3 types of wedges, 11 different putters, 2 types of Bags, apparel, etc... Its the real deal, players cavity soft forged irons, woods with heavy heads and square face angles and also CNC milled 100% flat wedge faces.

Whitlam just started making putters for maruman, the putters are his same designs from 5 years ago. problem is in Japan both D.W and maruman don't own the aluinser patent, Gauge Japan does. Maruman is taking a run at the U.S market once again with the Metabio line announcing Gauge Design as their putter maker, while legal action is soon to get rolling with Gauge Japan vs Gauge U.S.A.

Gauge Japan should have the name Gauge U.S.A in 12-24 months from now. Hopefully we will see a new better and stronger world gauge brand in the future under one owner.

Looking at the product itself, There is no comparison between the two brands...
