what do guys you prefer? I have played the speeder 757 & 83 diamana. I have also hit the rombax :tsg_smilie_tired: , I prefer the smoother feel of the diamana but I am considering the axiv 7568L for a little higher ball flight. Is the AXIV really as great as the reviews I have read? How is the feel during the load & release?

SS?

average from 115 mph with speeder 757 x to 123 mph with speeder 553 s. I prefer the 75 gram weight during tournaments so I don't knock one 2 fairways over.

I got the 7572 from chris and absolutely love it. Never tried the rombax, but have tried the diamana. IMO the Mamiya Axiv is way better. Carry and distance is unbelieveable. Plus the feel and stability are also awesome. Kicks the speeder 757 ass hands down IMO. I would say you definately won't be disappointed. Ask around, most, if not everyone has no problem with the Axiv.

I love my Axiv. With that SS I would reccomend the 7572 at the least. These play softer than they say my SS is about 105 and I am playing the 6564 tipped 1/2". I think I could handle the 6568 untipped and I am considering getting the 7568 for my 3 wood. I would also reccomend the M instead of the L it launches the ball higher than most Mid flex shafts definetly higher than the shafts you mention. I think that would be pretty much what you are looking for.

how does the 7572 play? I want a stiffer stiff shaft but not an x, I don't want a board. Does the 7572 play like a 7.2? what is your ss? Did you go H M or L? And a newby question: I have read that the AXIV is made to reduce distortion at any angle, does this mean I don't have to flo it or spine it?

I'm loving the 7572. I went with the M kick point. To me it's very stable, and provides optimal distance. I know what you mean by a stiffer stiff shaft, but not too stiff. I wanted to be able to swing my driver without having to hold back, but also be able to not always swing out of my shoes. This shaft seems to suit my swing speed just fine. I'm not really sure what my SS is. I'd say around a 125 ish. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info.

If you are talking about the S83 Diamana, then I’ve hit all three shafts in your consideration set. The 1) Axiv is the longest (by far) for my swing – 105/hitter. It gives me more total distance and way, way more carry. It’s hard to argue with the 2) Diamana S as it’s a fantastic shaft. However, I had to “swing better” with that shaft than I do the Axiv, which is more fire/forget. If I was a little off, I found the S could balloon pretty quick on me. I thought the 3) ROMBAX was very, very average. :tsg_smilie_whistle: I really had to stand on that shaft to get it to perform and, even then, I lost a lot of distance even though it was straight as an arrow.

As I’ve said before, just like there seems to be a golf shot every round that keeps you coming back for more, there’s a purchase every once in a while that ratifies the Ho. The Axiv was that for me. :tsg_smiley_yes: However, if I was only allowed one word to describe the Axiv, I don’t know if I would choose “long” or “smooth”: it loads that nicely.

I like a soft feel so the 6.4 (strong stiff) is plenty for me, and I’m glad I don’t have more on board. For your SS, I think the 6.8. Just my opinion, but let's put aside the frequency ratings and look at raw cpms: the 6.8 is a 279cpm which is a clear X in my book. The 7.2 is 290cpm which is Tour X - appropriate for Zodia's 125 SS.

And, I too would avoid the H and go M. I've hit the L as well which ain't that bad (i.e., doesn't balloon).

Thanks for the info.

I don't want a H, I am looking at the M or L. Does the m go a lot higher than other mid launch shafts? I'd like to get my ball to peak in the right spot, some low kick point shafts I've tried I'll fly it 280 but it goes 281 after the roll, although that was also with a 10.5*. I know there is no substitute for a good launch monitor, but do you know the difference in your launch characteristics for M vs L? Also should I spine or flo it? Thanks.

While we're on the subject.....
I have a 10.5 r580xd tp head and my shaft choices are down to the Diamana M (red) 73, stiff or the Axiv 7568, low kick. SS is about 105. Any thoughts?
