well i commented on this ball in the domestic forum, i'll post more details here.

tried it out today, and as rich said earlier, its very similar to the B330. it feels firmer at impact off the tee than a pro v1 and travels a tad further (i usually carry my driver around 290 with my x but this was carrying much farther like the 330) but still retains that buttery feel when you strike it solid with an iron.

i had a hard time getting it to spin much from 100 yards and in, but then again my driver swing speed is 112, not tiger's 125 :blackeye:

around the greens is my only concern. i was way off with distance control and assuming when the ball was going to check on chips. its a little harder to get one to bite up than with a pro v1, which is something im used to.

one thing i did like, is that it doesnt wear as much as say a pro v1 or HX tour. i used 3 balls all round with this, whereas i use anywhere from 4 to 7 pro v1's depending on how many wedge shots i hit (moreso now with the new x's, they wear even more than the old ones).

i like it. id like to f*ck around with it a little more. i always stand by titleist balls but have an open mind to changing if something better comes along.

peace!
-sammy

Swing Speed 112mph and you carry it 290-330yds?

Phill swings 120mph and it carries 290yds. You must have great numbers or you are swinging at least 120mph+

Anybody agree on this?

Cabo del Sol was nice today. Wasn't to long for a short hitter like me. 240ish off the tee straight down the middle. The desert plays short for 7,000yds. Hit a damn iron into a 480 Par 4.

not 330 yards, i was referring to the B330 ball...you might have missed the word "the" before the 330 in my last post.

LOL im not that juiced. im only 5'9" and play with a 44 1/4" driver! id need me some cream and some clear to assist me with a 330 yard carry

im anywhere from 280-290, depends how limber im feeling. 112 is average for me probably...faster sometimes slower others...

did you take any pics of the course?

...There similar to the B330's?...Well, that's a bit of a let down. I didn't like those balls....at all..I thought this ball would be like...an inbetween of the Gold and Black balls...sounds like it's a little more black style biased and biased towards distance. 'Cause if that's the case, might as well just buy some Pro v1's..

I've never used a Nike a try. It looks like its something that would bring benifit to all types of players. I might try one sleeve out, just to see what they're all about.

i love the platinum i think it's miles ahead of the pro-v1 at least for my game i played the black until these came out and i made the switch because of the added spin on wedge shots. i just picked up a dozen b330's though that seem like they may give them a run for thier money

Funny yall should say the Platinum and the B330's feel similiar. I was at my local Proshop last week and the Pro told me that Bridgestone makes Nike's balls, and Mizuno makes their clubs. I dont know if this is true or not but that's what he told me.

Your pro is clueless...having worked in Golf Retail...there are a ton of baseless rumors floating about Nike...
Mizuno doesn't make their Forged Irons...try Endo...and the clubs are assembled at a joint owned facility in the Oregon area and a assembly facility in Mexico that several OEMs use including Titleist, Callaway, TM and others.
When I worked in finance in a former life, I saw the facility while on a tour for my company.
Bridgestone becuase of their excellent Q&A on their products does make Nike balls, but Nike has a ball engineering dept which is headed by Rock Ishii (sp??), ex-girlfriend is a lawyer for Nike and she is involved in contract negotiation with Athletes and 3rd party companies...
Bridgestone will not share their seamless cover design/technology with anyone, but if you give them your ball design (cover, core, mantle) they will make it for you.

I heard the same thing......as far as the Platinum while it is close to the B330 the cover is a little more durable. The platinum has much better distance than the PV1 and better green side control than the PV1x.

It is well known that the Nike One series is made by Bridgestone. The Nike Distance Series from what I hear is made by Callaway.

I thought the Nike Forged Irons and Pro Combos were made by Muira?
