Does anyone own the new Ping Tour wedges? Golf Digest noted that these wedges are good in bunkers but great in the grass/rough. The small cavity (filled with a rubber plug) also gives some forgiveness in the wedge. I don't know if they are better than Cleveland CG10s.

Suprising performance out of the PING TOUR 54 for me. It plays great in deep rough or gnarly greenside stuff. The headweight and bounce help get the clubhead through the cabbage much better than alot of wedges I've tried. Certainly better than the Cleve 588.
Also has spin I would not have believed had I not hit it at 85-90 yards and stops as quick as my Vokey Spin Milled.
A VERY pleasant surprise...!

I have since switched to the Ping Tour Wedges (54 and 60). I must say these wedges are great. Very versatile and I can hit the 60 out of tight lies.

I haven't seen the black nickels around yet, except for the photo in Edwin Watts.

What's in the Bag?:

I was seriously thinking about getting the Ping Tour black wedges but ended up choosing the RAC TP black wedges instead. I just felt that the degree/bounce combinations were better for me. Good swing weights as well.

I really wanted to drop some coin on some Gauge or another top Japanese wedge but I couldn't pull the trigger. Just don't have the budget right now.

I have the Ping Tour BN 50, 54, 58 low bounce in Z-Z65 Cushin and Softstepped -D4-D7

Versatile and load of spin, precise, easy to hit, good distance for a wedge - gets up high - great out of sand - either the 54 or 58. Spin is controllable.

Sent the 58 in for a trailing edge grind so that the leading edge is lower (I play in firmish stuff) Should receive it today.
