So I always loved my 3 wood, only I was getting inconsitant results with the stock shaft. So I send the club to Joe to get some work done. At the same time I get my Maru spec driver. The Maru has a swingweight of D5, which is pretty darn heavy especially for a 44" driver. I was crushing the driver so I asked him to make the 3 wood feel as close to the driver as possible. Well Joe worked his magic and produced a real winner here. He removed the weight plate in the back of my driver and added about 7 or 8 grams to the head of a VERY light head. He then installed an Innovative graphite 3.3 UFO FX into the club. It's a highflex shaft midweight(74g) and 2.2 tq. The combination is simply awesome. Now I'm getting exactly the same trajectory every time. The club is D4 not quite as heavy as the driver but it's still a fairway wood so it can't be too heavy. When I first got it, it took me a few hits to get used to the weight, but once I got the timing down LOOK out! This thing a controllable sledgehammer. Off the TEE it's really a BEAST and VERY accurate. I'm not so sure what to pull on those tight par 4's anymore. This is definitely in contention with my 2 iron.
