I am going to start reconstucting my bag with new shafts and different set-ups and the like but was wondering what utility to put in the bag. I already have a taylormade rescue-2iron replacement but was wondering if to buy :money: a cally and replace the taylormade or to have a 3 iron replacement cally as well as the taylormade. I do like the taylormade alot though and I hate my 3/4 iron

KEEP the TMADE

I am trading a baffler for the rescue, it works the best for me anyway.

Others do not compare, the Cally is a great club though.

Mizuno makes a nice hybrid.

Either way they're both nice golf clubs. I'll go out and say Callaway Heavenwoods. I loved the way they felt, and they sounded really nice. The only thing i really didn't like was the stock shaft on the Heavenwood, Callaway is one of those comapnies that makes their shafts for the avrerage swing speed (around 80mph). I found them whippy. I'd buy the Heavenwoods and get them reshafted with some nice new Hybrid shafts

The Taylormade is the better of the two IMO.

If you live in Ireland or Hawaii or anywhere with mass wind the Heaven wood may be better but in all other scenarios its the TM Rescue all the way.

You could, however, move away from the two companies all together. Both Sonartec and Nickent make nice, yet, sometimes underrated and overlooked rescue hybrids. I like them both, and other than Taylormade and Callaway, those two are good choices in my books. But its all opinion so don't make a fuss if they're not your fortay. If you don't like them, stick with what you know works.

the only three hybrids that i would ever play are the mizuno hi-fli, the nike pro combo or the bridgestone airmuscle...to me, theyre the only three hybrids that actually look like golf clubs.

I use a Sonartec MD 17* with a UST Irod Stiff shaft to replace my 2 iron on longer courses or when the wind is really strong. This combo really seems to work well for me.

That may soon change with TaylorMades release of the NEW Rescue DUAL TP. I have a new TP DUAL 16* with the Diamana Hybrid stiff shaft that I have been trying out on the range and boy is it sweet! Still working on the right weight combo for me but it wont be long before I will have to have a tough choice on what club to carry in my bag.

Used a Nike 18* CPR in the past and had no complaints with that product either just don't have the room in my bag.

If I were you I would hit as many of these clubs with as many different shafts as you can before you buy anything. What works for one person might not work out for you.

Definately Heavenwood over Rescue...I dunno, the shape is a little more appealing, they sound way better, and ball flight is better. HOWEVER, The HALO is better than both of 'em, soo...*g*

*cough*...Callaway.

I've got the Ping G2 HL 2iron and its pretty sweet but very hard to hit a fade with, I also like the look of the cleveland LDI, it looks more workable but harder to hit than the G2. If you also like the driving iron I've seen people play with like a Nike Slingshot 2 iron and with a Big Bertha 2 iron of sometype. But anyway you look at it any of those are easier to hit than normal long irons. :smile1:

I like the heavenwood more then the tm rescue personally. A bit easier to work, and i get a higher trajectory.
