the current high-end ball from callway is (imho) awesome. my first experience with these balls was on a windy scottish links course and stepping onto the 1st tee i was convinced i didn't have enough balls in my bag to survive the round. 18 holes later i completed my round with the same ball i started with. the hx dimple pattern cuts through the wind like a laser and keeps the ball down very well. i have to admit that i was swinging well, but the ball gave me so much confidence. the cover is so very soft. you can really feel it on and around the greens. those little chips from the fringe are so easy to control as the ball checks so well.
the ball was in pretty good shape after the round, which is testement to it's amazing durability. the only thing that the pro v1 or x has over this ball is some length, but nothing else performance wise. i actually think the hx blue is better aroung the greens that the pro v as it is much more consistent. definately a contender to be the best on the market and at the moment i would rate this to be as good as any ball titleist has out there. |

I also think that this is a really good ball. It kinda had to grow on me because I like the hard feel of the 2-piece version. But this ball is great. Its strength is in the wind. Just stays on line. Also the distance is very good. It stops like its supposed to. It can get scuffed up and dirty, but so does a Titleist. You can't go wrong if you choose this ball--in red or blue.

I use the HX Blue 3-piece on par 3's when it absolutely, positively, has to be within 10 feet of the pin. It feels great and it flies true. Also, if I have a brain fart in the middle of my swing and put it off the green, with the spin it generates, I can be really aggressive with my chip or pitch shot.

Basically the HX blue is the softest ball on the market period, nothing else spins quiet like this ball.
It's the King on hard greens, if you can't stop this ball you may as well give the game up! Number one on my list ahead of the ProV |

I played this ball for the first time this weekend. I got to the course and realized I had left my bag of pro v's in my stand bag. I picked up a box for $25... I am not sure if I over payed or not but hey I was in a pinch.
The ball played great. Well the first one ended up being a sacrafical lamb. I tried to cheat a dogleg and caught the top of a tree and couldn't find it :money: I think I actually prefer this ball to the pro v, no emprical reasoning just liked it... |

On a recent golf bender (4 rounds in two days), I alternated between the HX Blue and HX Tour 56. The 56 won out ... barely.
I was stunned at how true the HX Blue was - excellent mid trajectory and just a bomb off the driver. Felt as soft as the 56 and around the greens, it was like a dart - hop & stop from 60 yards in. All around I like the 56 a little better as it did these things with a little more "grace". However, if buying on price, IMO this Blue is better than the 56 (i.e., the 56 is not $1 a ball better). |

I have to say also that I only played with theis ball a few times and it is the best feeling ball. I played with it again this weekend and shot my lowest round. It does have less scuff abrasion then the PV's but I would say it feels much better (softer). I'm not a long hitter so distance is not really a factor for me..just how it feels. Also everyone in my 4 some plays PV1's so sometimes it's a pain to find out whos play a PV1 #3, #4, etc..lol
