The only complaints some people have had with the Aldila Green NV's is that despite the incredibly silky feel upon impact and tight dispersion, they are still somewhat "Tip stiff" for some. Causing some "push/rights".

With this feedback returning to the guys at Aldila, they designed a new NV, with a "Neutral" flex tip...not soft, not stiff....what they descriped as a constant flex from tip to butt....yet still incorporating the NV design and production techniques.

The result is an Awsome shaft.

I was given two to sample....and due to the newness, they did not come with any tipping instructions...just "Fiddle around with them".

After some tinkering around (at the expense of one of the shafts) I found the end result to be about the best shaft I've ever hit...the tightness and control was there, as well as the soft buttery feel upon impact.

Ball flight was not low which I felt the NV's kinda lean towards...nor were they a high balloning arc.

Best part was even though my swing speed is a pretty smooth delivery, I also avg 110-112 SS which seemed to compliment this s-flex shaft....stepping up on it and getting speeds up to 117 resulted in the same controlable trajectory....the shaft can handle pretty much everything I could give it and more.

I belive the only thing bad about these shafts are the putrid red/goldish beer like color scheme.

So bad, that at this point in time, I don't have a head I can keep it in without the color combination making me want to vomit.

So it will probably stay put in the shop till the Spectrum comes out in February.

This new shaft will become the NVS (for soft tipped NV)

The colour is not that far away from the stock fuji offering in the clevelands... just shiy and more orange.... not as bad as some have made out.

Believe it will be available in the summer(04)

I installed a 75S in a 10.5 R500 Tour head......

Thoughts..... It's definately softer tipped than the green NV. It's just as smooth, loads and unloads very nicely. Certainly raises the trajectory from that of the NV. Not as tight (I believe the torque is slightly higher for an equivelent NV)or as penetrating a trajectory but would certainly suit the smooth swinger.

Summary .... A V.good shaft that will bring the NV characteristics to a wider audience. It proved to me that the Green NV is a better fit personally due to the penetrating trajectory.

Both shafts have effectively saved me money as they perform just as well as the high-zoot Fuji Speeders/tour specs. But that is my own personal experience.

:D
