I am wondering how the length of iron shafts is determined when you get fit? I understand you can get a static measurement, but would +- .25" either way of a "standard" 38 inch 5 iron really make a difference? Secondly, how would they fit length dynamically and again would +- .25" of "standard" make a difference here?
I know of a VERY knowledgeable fitter that does work for some PGA guys and he seems to always fit amatuer golfers with a little longer (than standard) more upright irons so I'm very curious to say the least. |

sorry to jump in on the post, as i have no knowledge of the matter. however i also would love to know what is better for the player.
im small in height ie 5'8 and i have alway had my clubs 37.75 5 iron with the lie 2 degrees flat. really what difference would it make if i was to get 38 inch 5 iron and would this in turn affect what lie i would need??? |
