whats up y'all!
i have a 983K laying around, and was going to reshaft it this year for the hell of it. i have grafalloy blue that i can use, BUT some friend of mine told me that titleist recommends not using a blue in the 983 for some reason...and that it would break at the hosel or come off or something...anyone know any truth to this or is he full of s**tte? thanks in advance! -sammy |

was at my freinds shop when the titleist rep came in. the blue shaft came up in conversation when it first came out, long story short, the rep said the same thing your buddy told you.

I played a Blue in my 983K for most of last season and didn't have a problem.

I had a weird problem with my 983E blue combo last year... I hit it like crap for a whole month and then it somehow got broken over my knee!!! :surprize: Seriously though I remember hearing they were having breakage problems in titleists.

I played a K with the blue for the last two years. Come April of last year the top half of the club face started to cave in and chip off. Titleist wouldnt replace it becuase of the shaft in it. When I got the new one I put the blue right back in and I didn't have problems. It makes me nervous though becuase I want the 905S with the new NT Proto. I don't want to have to pay for another driver agian.

I had a Grafalloy Blue Stiff flex (obviously connected to a 983k head) snap at the hosel only a few weeks after having it reshafted. Had it reshafted again with the same combo and had no problems. May have been a fluke.
