I want to protect my irons but I didn't want to use the standard neoprene covers. I have seen some socks made in to covers and I want to explore what options there are out there. If you are using something unique or have seen something unique, please share so that I can get ideas.

A lot of people frown upon the use of iron covers. They say they look dorky and you look like a hack, but I disagree to some extent. I'll use them if I'm riding in a cart but leave them off when walking. My Bridgestone J33's are like still like new and are in their 3rd season. I think the bottom line isn't so much IF you use them but where.

Anyway, since that's none of my business....the best ones I've found are the Club Gloves. They are a soft cover and look pretty good. I think they now come in different colors.

TSG has a terrific set of iron covers by Mizuno. There are 10 padded nylon covers that have the club numbers.

I always protect my most expensive golf club investment for a whole host of reasons, but the most important reason is that I trade clubs often and I find that I get a much better price for my used set that doesn't have bag chatter and dings.

You might try some velcro tape about 1.25 inches wide and you cut to lengths you want. It fits snugly, in black looks fine, protects the clubs and is easy to put on and take off. Wider rubber bands also work fine but they are a little harder to get on and off and look poor but really they do the trick quite well and are not that noticeable. Remember, you only need everyother iron covered to do the trick so your "go to" irons may not even need covers.
