Yamaha has always focused on creating a special driver for those with slower swing speed or more senior golfers wanting more distance. In the past, the GRX line filled this niche by creating a premium driver from the best materials and design and technology Yamaha had.
Yamaha is proud to introdude the new 2010 inpres X Classic line, made for more distance and performance then ever.
Yamaha did some research with slower swinging golfers and seniors who wanted more distance and found that with a longer length shaft AND lighter swing weight, players increased their swing speeds by a substantial margin as well as their distances by over 10 yards on average!
The new classic driver has a premium forged ELF Titanium Cup face (Endo) with new Octaface Classic design which increases the sweet spot by 24% over the GRX!
A special bulge and roll design creates a huge sling shot effect and great ball speeds at impact. The CG is placed for maximum carry with low spin based on Yamaha's RPM concept which is also used on their standard inpres X drivers.
The new Orbit shaft for the Classic driver features a double kickpoint, low and high, which helps the longer shaft unload and square to the ball it impact. The Classic is also draw biased and 0.5* closed to ensure a straight to soft draw by making it easier to square the longer club.
The Classic is not only long but also very light weight with all flexes coming in at under 280g making this one of the lighest drivers on the market.
For those who want and need distance in a forgiving package, the inpres X Classic driver is an awesome choice.
Available in 10.5 and 11.5* lofts, 9.5* is a 3 week custom order and only available with stiff/regular flex.
