Tourstage has redesigned their X01 series balls for the 2011 season. They've decided to simplify things by offering only 2 models for the athlete and pro golfer. The new X01 SOLID and new X01 MILD. All top Tourstage pros in Japan and worldwide have already made the change to the new balls which are being raved about in top golfing publications all across Japan.
The new X01 SOLID is a premium 4 piece ball focused on providing a crisp feel and penetrating low to mid launch off the tee. It provides maximum touch and spin around the greens with irons and wedge shots. The lower trajectory provides a balance of carry and run with the driver but mosty importantly direction and control especially when windy. The SOLID is already in play by Shigeki Maruyama, Chie Arimura and Ai Miyazato who won the LPGA ShopRite Classic using a prototype of the SOLID.
The SOLID uses a high speed Neo G core protected by an SD Ionoma inner cover. The core is activated with higher driver speeds to produce optimal spin and that penetrating trajectory off the tee. The mid cover is a High Rally Iomoma cover with the outer cover being a high spin urethane cover. These two layers are put into action with wedge and iron shots for higher spin and touch. The 326 zoomless dimples provide maximum aerodynamics. The SOLID has a compression of 86.
The new X01 MILD is a premium 3 piece ball which provides a softer feeling thanks to the milder core. The MILD is a mid to higher trajectory ball providing more carry plus run and a softer feel than the SOLID ball off the face of the driver. The MILD will also spin well around the greens with wedges and irons and is more of a balance between a soft feel performance ball and spin ball. The MILD is already in play by Yuta Ikeda and Katsumasa Miyamoto as well as other Tourstage pros on the Japanese tour.
The MILD uses a high speed SOFT Neo G core covered by a High Rally Iomoma cover. The outer cover is a High Spin soft urethane cover. The Soft core is activated during higher driver swing speeds while the outer cover excels with wedges and irons. The MILD has a compression of 83 with it's 326 zoomless dimples.
Both models are available in White, Yellow or Orange.
