2010 was the year of high grade and high modulus carbon shafts paving the way for premium performance in the Japanese market. Geotech Golf, the number one components company in Japan has joined the competition by creating a new XDB line of high modulus shafts all hand rolled and made in Japan of premium high grade carbon. The higher the quality carbon the tighter the dispersion due to its consistent rebound and flex. Higher grade carbon also contains more glass materials rather than rubber also contributing to the quality and the feel of this strong shaft.
The XDB65 is a low spin, tight dispersion, low to mid launching high modulus combination shaft made of a special 4 axis carbon weave in the butt with a 90t modulus mid section and a 50t tip section. This special design creates the best of both worlds when it comes to distance and control. The 4 axis weave and 90t mid section create stable control and direction with minimal deformation of the shaft while producing maximum energy transfer through the 50t tip section. The XDB65 allows the faster swinger and harder hitter to swing away as the shaft does the work and the head meets the ball with no worries about timing. The Butt and Mid section provide a firm feel for a sense of stability but you can feel the head accelerating through the hitting zone with a strong kick thanks to the strong unloading of the 50t tip area. The XDB is the only shaft known to use 90t strength carbon in its construction.
The XDB65 is available in White/Orange or a Dark Wine Red finish with a low mid kick.
Flexes are Stiff/Regular, Stiff and X-Stiff and swing speeds recommended as follows:
XDB65 Stiff/Regular 67g, 3.6* TQ, 94-102mph
XDB65 Stiff 68g, 3.6* TQ, 100-108mph
XDB65 X-Stiff 72g, 3.6* TQ, 106-115mph
The XDB65 is 0.335" tip and can be tipped up to 1"
If you need an XDB for an FW, please see the XDB65 FW shaft listing. There is also an XDB55 for the smoother and slower swinger.
